     “C ollecting Soccer Balls for Middle School Children in South Africa ”

( Miramar , Florida ) Wednesday, November 15, 2006 – Heidi Richards, Founder and Chief Goddess had the honor to witness the honor, courage and commitment of our young men and women in the military when she visited f the U.S. Central Command in the Middle East .  To commemorate the trip, Eden Florist is having a Soccer-Ball Drive for the school children of Tadjoura , Djibouti ( South Africa ). Several organizations have promised assistance including Ashbritt Environmental, the Boys & Girls Clubs and local area high schools.

The impetus for this program began when Heidi Richards, President was nominated by the Department of the Navy to take part in a program put on by the Department of Defense – The Joint Civilian Orientation Conference.  The Joint Civilian Orientation Conference (JCOC) is a Secretary of Defense sponsored program for America 's leaders interested in expanding their knowledge of the military and national defense. JCOC is the oldest existing Pentagon outreach program and has been held more than 70 times since its inception in 1948. Thousands of business, education and community leaders have benefited from this in-depth introduction to the military.

JCOC participants attend briefings by senior military and civilian officials followed by hands-on experience observing exercises, participating in training and interacting with troops stationed across the globe. According to Heidi, “We have already received 125 Soccer Balls and have promises for several more. We have had a lot of support from the community and several individuals have promised to donate soccer balls to the cause.” Among the companies and individuals we have received soccer balls from include Ashbritt Environmental in Pompano Beach, FL, and Victor Gonzalez, Retired race car driver in South Miami. She goes on to say, “As soon as we have the first 250 balls, we will be shipping them to Djibuti.”
