March is filled with exciting celebrations. It’s the month we recognize The American Red Cross for all its work around the globe. It’s Employee Spirit Month, International Ideas Month, Irish-American Heritage Month, National Social Work Month, Optimism Month, Save Your Vision Month, and Women’s History Month (among many others).

And there are literally hundreds of days to celebrate important events, milestones and causes.

Here is our partial list of holidays – if the spirit moves you, be sure and send flowers to commemorate the days you see below.

March 1st is World Compliment Day

March 2nd is World Book Day

March 3rd is Employee Appreciation Day,  I Want you to be Happy Day, National Salesperson Day,  Peach Blossom Day, Princess Day, Simplify Your Life Day, and World Day of Prayer

Every year on March 3, a special festival, dubbed “the Peach Blossom Festival” is celebrated in Hunan China. This must not be confused with another festival of the same name, Japan’s Hinamatsuri or Doll Festival.

March 4th is Courageous Follower Day, March Forth-Do Something Day and National Sons Day

March 5th is Namesake Day

March 6th is Day of the Dude and National Dentist Day

March 7th is Peace Corps Day. Plant Power Day and National Library Workers Day

March 8th is International Women’s Day and Volunteers of America Day

International Women’s Day commemorates the movement for women’s rights and celebrates the political, cultural, social, and economic achievements of women. It is also a day to continue fighting for gender equality: for equal pay and work opportunities for women, and for equality in access to education and healthcare worldwide. A global celebration, It is a day of taking new initiatives and action.

March 9th is Get Over It Day and Nutrition and Dietetics Technician

March 10th is International Day of Awesomeness, Festival of Life in the Cracks Day, International Day of Women Judges and Salvation Army Day

March 11th is Genealogy Day and National Promposal Day

March 12th is Working Mom’s Day and Plant a Flower Day

With Spring around the corner we eagerly await warmer weather, trees full of leaves, and of course, the blossoming of flowers! National Plant a Flower Day is a day to plant a flower or flowers. Flowers can be planted in flower beds outside, or in pots both inside and outside. 

March 13th is Good Samaritan Involvement Day and Smart and Sexy Day  

The idea of ‘Smart and Sexy’ is that women are intelligent and ingenious when it comes to career and workplace, and they also have the ability to dress with such confidence and professionalism that comes with the job. So it is a statement of feminism and competence, of beauty and brains.

March 14th is Write Your Story Day and National Genius Day

March 15th is Ides of March and Small Business Development Day

March 16th is Lips Appreciation Day

Lips Appreciation Day was created as a day to do something nice for your lips, such as giving them some lip balm and letting them be kissed. It’s important to appreciate your lips because no one has any just like yours! They are unique just like fingerprints are!

March 17th is Saint Patrick’s Day

March 18th is Forgive Mom and Dad Day, Kiss Your Fiance Day, Global Recycling Day, and National Tequila Day

March 19th is Client’s Day, National Certified Nurses Day and Red Nose Day

March 20th is International Astrology Day, International Day of Happiness, Proposal Day and Spring Equinox

Spring is associated with rebirth, regrowth, and renewal. Plants spring from the ground—which gives the season its name—and blossom. Animals become more active and temperatures begin to warm. Depending on where in the hemisphere one is located, the characteristics associated with spring may begin earlier or later than the official first day of the season.

March 21st is National Common Courtesy Day, National Fragrance Day, National Single Parent Day, World Harmony Day, International Colour Day, National Flower Day and World Social Work Day

Fragrance day is observed to acknowledge all the good smelling pleasant things that spread happiness
and lighten up the mood.

March 22nd is National Goof-off Day and World Daffodil Day

As the first flower to bloom in Spring, Daffodils are a symbol of the fight against cancer. Plant some, or donate to cancer research and treatment funds.World Daffodil Day is a holiday dedicated to finding a cure for cancer by inspiring people to donate or volunteer. Daffodils are a symbol of hope and life, both important symbols of inspiration for people fighting cancer. Several companies sell daffodils on this day and give the proceeds to cancer research.

March 23rd is OK Day and 1st Day of Ramadan

March 25th is National Medal of Honor Day and Omazing You Day
                     
The purpose of Omazing You day is to promote unconditional love and self-care.

March 26th is Legal Assistants Day, Live Long And Prosper Day and Make Up Your Own Holiday Day 

March 29th is National Mom & Pop Business Owners Day. Solitude Day, Mermaid Day, and National Vietnam War Veterans Day, Virtual Vacation Day
The Vietnam War led to over 58,000 American military deaths, and a total of over two and a half million Americans served in the war. After about a decade of war, the last American troops came home on March 29, 1973.  Today commemorates the sacrifices these men and women made in the name of freedom.

March 30th is Doctor’s Day

EACH YEAR on March 30th National Doctors Day honors the professionals for their dedication and contributions to society and the community. Their dedication puts the patient first time and again. March 31st is National Prom Day

Prom is a very special time in every teen’s life. It is a time filled with fashion, friendship and fun. But at times safety, peer pressure, and insecurity go along with it. too. That is why building a community that encourages confidence, empowerment, individuality and inner beauty is so important. It is also why we celebrate young adults all around the world.
